2021 GLT COVID-19 PROTOCOLS

 

  • VACCINATION: Until there is official announcement of vaccination passport required in Ontario to participate in outdoor sporting events, the GLT will not require proof of vaccination to compete in September 2021 events, however, we encourage all players to be vaccinated and this rule may change at anytime.
  • TRAVEL ISOLATION:  All players required to self isolate for 14 days due to travel outside of Canada, will not be permitted to participate.
  • HOST FACILITIES: GLT will work with and adhere to all host facilities current COVID-19 Protocols in place. Full event protocols will be provided to event participants ahead of each event during the 2020 calendar year.
  • COVID-19 SYMPTOMS: If you are feeling unwell, develop a fever or any symptoms listed for COVID-19 prior to or during an event GLT Directors will assess the situation and approve a refund or tournament credit. The player will be asked to leave immediately. 
  • MASKS: Face coverings will be required to enter all clubhouses and indoor facilities at each host golf course. 
  • ARRIVAL TIMES: Currently there is no restriction on when players may arrive at the host facility
  • CADDIES: Will be permitted at the discretion of the host facilities and must adhere to all COVID-19 Protocols in place if permitted to be on the property. 
  • SPECTATORS: Will be permitted at the discretion of host facilities and must adhere to all COVID-19 Protocols in place if permitted to be on the property.

 

2021 SEASON ON COURSE COVID-19 RULES & PROTOCOLS

  • ON SITE REGISTRATION: There is no official on site registration and players will be asked to check in with the official starter approximately 10 minutes prior to their posted start time.
  • SANITATION AREAS: Hand sanitation area will be available before entering the first and tenth tee areas and all players will be required to sanitize their hands to assist in the protection of GLT staff and other participants.
  • TEE SET UP: Full first and tenth tee set ups will be available at each event including hand sanitation, bottles of water and posted event rules, pin sheet and scorecard information.  Players may be asked to take a picture as paper versions will not be available.  PDF and online versions will also be available for players.
  • SCORECARDS: Paper scorecards will be used at all events 
  • LEADERBOARDS:  Leaderboards will be available online at www.greatlakestour.com / Instagram / Facebook / Twitter / GolfGenius App and Tournament Information Sites
  • FLAGSTICKS: Flagsticks may be removed for all tournaments
  • BUNKERS: Rakes will be permitted however, if a host facility does not allow rakes the following will apply that If a player is within a bunker they may lift, clean and place their ball within 1 club length no closer to the hole.  A player may choose to leave the ball as it lies.
  • PAIRINGS:  The GLT will attempt to play tournaments in threesomes and may be subject to playing in foursomes based on host course recommendations and demand of tee sheets.
  • PLAYOFFS: In the event of any ties for first place, a hole by hole sudden death playoff will be required.  If the GLT is unable to produce a playoff within a comfortable time of completion of play, Tournament officials may make the decision to establish co-champions.  Prize money and points will be evenly dispersed.
  • SCORING: All players will be required to enter the scoring area after the completion of their round.  A GLT Scoring official will be present and will verify all scores with each player.  Social distancing will be required and masks will be mandatory if scoring is within the clubhouse.
  • EVENT COMMUNICATION: All participants will receive event communication via email and text messages.  PLEASE NOTE: that Golf Genius is working on a solution for text messaging and we ask all players to be aware of email communication.
  • PAYOUTS:  All prize money will be paid out via E-transfer.  All participants should have a solution in place to receive e-transfers for prize money.
  • PHYSICAL DISTANCING: Physical distancing practices will be encouraged by all players in respect to our host facilities, their staff, other players and GLT Staff. GLT Staff and course staff will be monitoring this throughout each event and if players disrespect club and GLT officials.
